What types of fish do you feed your fish?

With the availability of risk free (parasite free) pellets, I don't use fish at all.
Any fresh fish can contain parasites, even some frozen fish can (some parasites from lakes that freeze over can go into stasis when frozen, and return when thawed). Fish fillets can have questionable nutritional value as a staple, and even the most piscivores species get nutrition from other sources.
There is a study showing that as dovii become adults they eat less and less fish, and more and more insects in nature.

How do you guys get your fish to eat these fish fillets??? Do you cut them into strips / chunks and throw into the tank, or do you add other supplements or smell enhancers to it???

Coz i cant for the life of me get my Gymnothorax onto fish meat unless its alive and swimming in the tank...

As mine are quite small at the moment I put the fillets through the blender and then put in a zip lock bag and flatten into a thin sheet. I freeze this and cut some of it up into small cubes to feed. I find if it goes into the tanks frozen it is more buoyant and the filter blows it around the tank which the ctenopoma certainly respond to.

Just to update, I got a few different things for the fish yesterday and so last night they had salmon fillet - wow! they loved it!

I feed my oscar using chopsticks as he won't eat unless the food is at the surface and he snatched one of them out of my hand in his eagerness to get to the salmon :-)

Thank you for everyone's advice.

Tried them on cockles. The ctenopoma went really nuts for that but the polys were not particularly interested, possibly they were still stuffed with salmon.
