Mark is his name. You've been talking to him on your other thread. I thought it was he, who built a fully enclosed scrubber with submersible LEDs.
Thought i would post this here incase someone stumbles accross the thread in the futre, may help them avoid making the same mistake.
So when i moved all the fish i alsooved the established media from the 150 gal along with adding 20L of matrix. In the past when i ever i set up a new tank and moved fish from a smaller one i kept the same routine in regards to feedings.
Well with all my excitement on the new tank i wanted to see how much i could throw at the system such as how fast the 50 micron socks would clog up (fast btw) along with how fast my nitrates would creep up with the new water volume. So i fed very heavily every day sometimes two portions. Not thinking about the new bioload vs the old. In the 150 these same fish were getting fed every 3 days along with multiple fin level wc's per week plus i added a 17 inch sp. Dabola a few days after setting up the new tank.
I noticed that the polys were looking really washed out and in the past when they looked off it usually happened when i was lazy and miss some water changes. So the other night i tested for ammonia just to see. To my utter shock it was between 2 and 4 ppm. Immediately did a fin level wc and dosed with safestart...smh
Ammonia as of yesterday looks to be 1ppmView attachment 1236338as of today. Looks .5

clm08k keep this in mind with your upcoming tank.
loving the build, fish look pretty happy in there. Have you had any algea growth on your scrubber yet?
Good catch. I should probably do this myself as I used to only feed every other day prior to moving my eels into my 220. Now I feed every day and usually feed larger portions. The eels have been eating well and aren't acting any different though.
