Udon, Soba, and the Noodles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use flourish as well, I still need to do the rounds on algae using a kitchen sponge. At least when I put sand in it won't be needed for the bottom

The DW likes to hold on to algae. I get some here and there. I figure as long as it's generally balanced overall some algae is normal.

Cool, I get double duty then. :)

Supposedly if your plants are happy and you have a good light balance algae shouldn't take over.
Mine takes a month or more to be really noticeable

The algae? Hmmm... Not sure I notice a trend with time per se in the large tank. I get it most in my Betta tank for some reason - my smallest tank at 5 gallons. It's that green stuff that sticks to the surfaces of things. It builds slowly, I pick it off. I might decrease the light period for that tank to help but it's not a huge issue so i don't bother.

I had that as well, in my betta tank.

I have some brown diats and occasional green diatoms, as well as some brownish hair stuff on my wood. Not sure what it is

The manufacture does not market Flourish as an algaecide. Even though it's a side effect from using :-). Read up on it when you get the chance. I use to dose it all the time and never had algae issues.

He's such a dork! :)

Here it is just so everyone else can get a laugh out of my oh-so-vicious Doberman.

Here's another one of him from this past weekend. A friend built this sandbox for his dogs to dig in, but I think Silas doesn't quite understand the purpose, even though he's enjoying the hell out of it. LOL
Love your dog:)

Cool! I didn't know that.

Yeah, I get the brown hairy stuff on my DW too!

Also some occasionally on leaf edges, esp. older leaves.
I have had a few little bits on the front glass and I need to scratch it off with my nails. Although it isn't too bad
