Udon, Soba, and the Noodles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fish are well, fatty Macaroni was psyched to get some catfish. I swear my Del is growing like a weed. I should measure her again.

I am doing a WC today. 2 days past when I usually do it so am curious to see what the nitrates are.

Hendre Hendre - love that your lady loves polys! I think there are enough of us weird ladies out there that love them. Happy you got one. :)

Hendre Hendre and @kewpiefishy - hopefully there'll be bichirs in your tanks SOON! Kind of cool to see an 8-10 inch Del at the store...

It was definitely cool, looked pretty skinny though and he would have made short work out of most of my fish. I don't really get a warm and fuzzy from the LFS to begin with, too corporate, and I don't want to compromise when I finally do decide to pull the trigger.

She's gonna be the one dragging me to the store, not lambasting me for the amounts I spend :p

When they hit the shops again I'm gonna be first in line. May even get 2 If I have enough.

I skipped WC this week, I don't have enough Dechlor. My 70 is cut down to only 3 fish with a few plants in but I never got much nitrates, even with crazy feeding.

My 15 I haven't tested but is heavy planted and not very highly fed. And still not fully stocked IMO.

I'm interested to see the nitrate difference

I have been wanting to catch Ms. Udon going up to get a breath. Sometimes she makes huge splash noises - this time not so much. This must happen with the big LJs, too, right? I can't imagine!

Interesting that they all seem to go down quickly after they breathe, too. I wonder if that's for a reason.

Feeding time - all of the ropes eat pellets now. Note the calm nature of the Del and ropes and then the almost frenzied Polli demeanor. He's not even on the ground to start. LOL

And just a full tank from a distance type video. Phillip calls the tank "Noodle Soup". :D

Also, he butterflies aren't the most active except at feeding time but I think they're pretty damn cool. Even when not active at least they're visible. Two of the 3 also eat out of tongs.

The bichirs hectic breathing is due to a lack of cover or something, check the thread on the breathing spiracles and habits ;)

My knifefish are similar although they shoot straight up then down almost vertically and it takes about a second in total.

I love how densely planted the tanks are, I really need to find some wood extending upwards and plant on that.

(PS I saw doberdork, It's hilarious :D)

He's such a dork! :)

Here it is just so everyone else can get a laugh out of my oh-so-vicious Doberman.

Here's another one of him from this past weekend. A friend built this sandbox for his dogs to dig in, but I think Silas doesn't quite understand the purpose, even though he's enjoying the hell out of it. LOL

Too cute ;)

My corn snake was busy dipping his head in the water bowl earlier and watching me from underwater through the side of the tub. He's amusing sometimes
