Driftwood looks sweet! If you get tired of the rock. Here is a pic of what the slate looks like on my old piece of drift wood. It is 2 plates( probbably 5X5) stacked on top of each other. If you go this route, you might need to put plate on a couple of branches.


Either way, using the rock definitely was a good idea. It will sink eventually :]

That's a good idea. Did you glue it to the slate? I have a lot of tile around the office I could use.

honestly, I bought it like that. I think it was just drilled in.
Glue could work as well, as long as it is aquarium safe. Maybe waterproof silicone, if that would stick to wood.

I was just thinking that this morning, that is like the perfect avatar for MFK. jwd I used river rocks, which can be really pretty, as well as terra cotta pots to weigh down my drift wood. Like a f-load of rocks.

I need to collect some river rocks. That's an awesome piece of wood!

I'm going camping near a dam soon, it's water level is only 26% so hopefully there is something nice

Thanks! I get bored with mine easily and so I looked up "fish avatar" on google and found this beauty.

It does go well with this site. Thanks! I do plan to add more rocks but the ones I have in it now will have to go. I want a lot of river rocks.

You can get some decent looking ones at home depot or lowes for dirt cheap.
