Hello; I am on my second Nissan Sentra. The first was an SE-R I bought new in 1991. Nice driver and very reliable. I drove it hard for ten years with hardly any issues. I sold it and the last time I saw the car it had well over 200 K miles.
I bought a new 2001 Sentra SE to replace it and am still driving it. I got a package with the same 2.0 liter engine as the old SE-R and the manual trans. It does not have the independent rear suspension so is not quite as good at handling. Still has the original battery, water pump, alternator and all. I have replaced brake pads, tires and windshield wipers as they wore. I did replace the radiator hoses, heater hoses, and engine belts after some years as a precaution and carry the originals in the trunk.
Being able to do my own work helps. I replace all the fluids on a schedule. Oil, antifreeze, trans oil, brake fluid, hydraulic clutch fluid, and power steering fluid.
only 112 K miles on the 2001 Sentra so far. I do not drive as much since I retired.
I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado I bought new with 48K miles.
I guess it is time to trade. I like to get something every ten or fifteen years.
