I'm usually quite clued up with Knifefish, but this one has me a little puzzled.
I know female Black Ghost Knifefish have a blue tint in season with a short head and males have headshapes a little bit like one's bellend, but this one has a very long headshape like a female Dragon Knifefish, but still a bit short of a male.

Any experts out here who could clarify?
Male Black Ghost Knifefish or
Female Dragon Knifefish?

Cheers :)

Here's the stripe on the BGK I was referring too. I know it's present on the forehead of adult specimens, it was on my previous 12-13 inchers too.
Curious to know if it fades and dissapears beyond that size.

And here's a Dragon Knifefish (they also have the white/yellow tail tags)

I've never seen a pale tail band on a dragon knife before, but most of them do have a stripe going part way down the back like in the photo below..

Ah so that's present on both species then, cheers for clarifying :)

I've seen the tail band on both species too, but it was only the 1 band, whereas BGK had 2, so this one is looking like a BGK then, thanks! :)
