I have a pump mounted under my stand for water changes, but it only does something along the lines of 200gph.

really? that's awesome! How does it work. Does the pump act as a suction? and then you disconnect the hose?

The pump are the are the same pump you use in the sump, so the pump will suck the water and push the water thru the hose up and out of the tank.
