Udon, Soba, and the Noodles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He chowed on pellets so it looks like we're good on feeding now. Woot!
Great!

I believe the supplier locally feeds his polys pellets in the import tanks so hopefully the next sen will also be on pellets already

It's been a week now. Ziti is notably more comfortable as time passes. Has been a bit more slow to warm up than the others but at the same time isn't skittish when I move around or take photos or anything like that, even right up in his face, so that's all good.

Tonight I'll try pellets.

She looks great! Does she come to greet you at the front of the tank?

Edit to add congrats on the pellets!

Not yet but I can see that happening. Right now s/he just frequently chooses to be close to the glass even if I'm right there.

The only one that consistently "comes to say hi" is the Polli. Except at feeding time, then the ropes beg esp at the top now that I've done the hand feeding .

Nice that she's not spooked easily and is so agreeable to having her picture taken :)

Polys are such interesting and deliberate creatures that I find it easy to anthropomorphisize their actions. Mine consistently comes to greet me, but only if I speak to her. Perhaps she associates the sound waves traveling through water with food, but when she comes to say Hi it just seems "curious" or "friendly".

What fascinating creatures they are :)

Completely agree. I anthropomorphize my creatures all the time. :)

That's great to hear mine wont touch pellets yet. Didn't like chopped krill either. I'm gonna try some chopped up carnivore pellets tonight.

The new polys from WetSpot wouldn't eat frozen krill? Weird! Well I soak my pellets for a few minutes so it's easier for them to swallow and digest. I think it makes them smell a bit stinkier (in a good way) and helps the small polys and ropes to eat them more easily vs. the hard pellet. I mix carnivore, massivore, NLS, and Sinking Cichlid Gold together and cut up the massivore. So I am not sure which type he was into but I didn't even soak in bloodworm juice (another trick I've used for the more picky Ropes and Moke). Maybe you'll be lucky? I've also only been feeding every other day....

They are eating blackworms. Neither ate the krill. I think they like eating after lights out too so stuff sits for a bit. All blackworms are gone in the morning both times.
