New Build ~ 600 Gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
EDIT:

Just perusing the thread, I broke two Reeflo pumps by using teflon tape and then over-tightening them by hand back at the Portland aquarium.

Where in Mexico did you go, I will be over near Cancun here in a couple weeks. Packing fishing gear.

Missed the edit, sorry. I learned something new in this thread about Reeflo pumps. I have been doing these wrong for years using that tape. I'm surprised I just now had issues to be honest. No leaks now.

We were in Talum, on the southern peninsula. About 30 minutes south of Cancun. We love that area. I got to snorkle in a mangrove lagoon which is something I've never done before and awesome. I spent a solid half hour watching a group of 18"+ parrot fish chew away at algea.

Finally getting to some finish work on this cabinet for all the wires and cables. I can't stop staring at that fan so it's flipped now. It still flows the same direction but is mounted on the inside.

Much better. This is a false wall so it will look clean from the front. Just the Apex display above and the switch panel below. All the wires get coiled in the back area.

The labels to the outlet will match up with the corresponding tag, on the cords, so they don't get crossed up to the outlet. There is a lot going on with pump backwashing etc...

There is plenty of room behind the shelf for rolled up cords or other small storage. All the lights in the front (Apex display and switch lights) are orange and look clean. I'll put the legs on tomorrow and this thing is finished.

What's all the electronic equipment for? Like Apex controller? Thought this tracked stuff more for saltwater than freshwater.

sweet, nice and clean. I love it.

Thank you

Ask away! I'm twiddling my thumbs over here while this thing cycles.

Do we know what the stock is going to be yet?

A 27" leichardti and a couple female rays.

Precisely an Apex controller. It is much more common on the salty side. Many of the concepts carry over to fresh water as well. The big selling point for me is power outage notification, remote control of all equipment from anywhere in the world etc... Peace of mind is valuable. The cabinet etc... is just a way to make everything look clean vs a rats nest of wires
