I need help,my fish are acting weird

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It seems to me that any water chemistry issues would probably have a more noticeable impact on the fry than the parents. Have you noticed any decline in the number of fry in the tank? With the midas and neets in the tank it would be hard to tell if a decline was from stress or predation though.

I could be way off base, but how much agitation do you have for the tank?

The reason I ask is because bigger fish need more oxygen. If everyone else is smaller and acting fine, it could be that there isn't enough oxygen for everyone.

Just a thought that popped into my head.

Higher temp decreases oxygenation as well.

I think I found the problem. I had put 2 ceramic tile in my tank for covering and set them on some rocks they are 12inches wide and 24 inches long and made great covering. I took them out Friday night and they are almost back to normal, swimming around rubbing on each other. The only set back now is the midas is use to having a shelter and I don't have anything to make him a covering so he is freaked out and hiding at the top of the tank behind the output from my fx6 and is very skittish now. My water is still testing everything good so I am hoping everything is good to go. I should know in a few days. The male Jag has eaten 3 frozen gumball blood worms the past 2 nights in a row so I am really happy about that because they hadn't eaten in a while with the babies and then this happening.
