You may have something there...I read at some point that polys are considered the link between reptiles and amphibians. No idea if that is true or not, but if it is temp could be the deciding factor. It only takes 3 degree variance on corn snake eggs to change the majority gender. Most reptiles are that way temp eggs or mom if live bearing are kept will change the gender of the babies.Could be due to females being larger and more resilient. but i doubt it.
I believe it's something based off an outside variable such as PH or temp. as this is the case for most ancient animals I.E. alligators gender based on temperature, as well as sea turtles.
