I am planning out a South American Bio-tope aquarium. In the tank there will be 3 wide bar silverdollars, a few redhooks, a severum, chocolate cichlid, and fancy plecos and corys.
I would like maybe about 3 or 4 more peaceful cichlids to complete the display. I'd like for them to be medium growing not too large but not too small either since the tank is the perfect size for me will be perfect sized 6'.
I am considering a wild Leopaldi Long nosed angelfish as 1 of them. I am strongly considering a true parrot cichlid but I see many things on parrots that state their aggressive.
Another fish I'd like to try is the panda uaru. Are these guys harder than regular uaru?
Any other cichlids I should check out?

I personally suggest not including Uaru in your stock selection especially the Panda that requires very low ph and True Parrot cichlids get huge. Also even the so called peaceful cichlids need lots of space or you will have problems with aggression.

Ok so mostly likely I'll pass on the panda uaru. I probably won't be able to find a true parrot around here anyway.
The tank is going to be a 6' 180 gallon.
Am I insane or could altum angelfish work with a chocolate cichlid and severum as the only cichlids? Or even wild caught scalares?

I think Angel fish could work but tbh don't know how it would go if you added WC Angel.

I was thinking the F2 altums from Tony Tan discus and angelfish usa. My friend has some and they are incredible looking, look awesome and his are with stingrays and black aro.

You can add about 6 angels try to get the ones that look like the Way ones and then add some drift wood but don't let it cure fully as little bit of tanents will give it a natural feel and the rest of plants is all our to you .I suggest you may get some ideas from Rachel's o riealy (don't know the exact spelling ) aquarium "River bank aquascape"
