I am planning to house three 2 feet Channa micropeltes in either a 360 gallon 8'Lx3'Wx2'H or a 540 gallon 12'Lx3'Wx2'H aquarium. How long before I need to rehome them in a pond? Thanks in advance!

I have heard Micropeltes are very fast growers but I haven't had that type of luck yet...Mine hasn't shown any growth

What do you feed yours?

The 540 gallon will last them a few years I think, given that the max size is 4' it will take time for them to achieve that

Thanks for the reply. I haven't had the chance to take care of any Channa species so I'm doing my research, but how many do you think can I house in the 540 gallon?

Micropeltes is best kept alone bud

You'll be able to house your 3 in your 540 for as long as they'll allow each other.
Which is around 17".
At that point, you'll have a very big tank, and a very big fish (good luck scooping the remains of the two other fish ;) ).

There is still a slight chance you form a pair, but since they show sort of a pack attitude when young, it'll be nigh impossible for you to determine before it's too late.

Is it eating? If I recall correctly it was pouting and not being active in your tank. The pangasius and RTC may be out eating it. Btw channa are illegal here now

I've seen a video of a guy keeping about 6 3ft micros together

Yeah, in that amazing cubic tank, with light lighting.
From what I recall, two disappeared overnight ever since he posted that, but it might be another person.

The two I'm planning to get are from a petshop where these two are like dogs petting each other. Most likely will stick with them.

I like your sarcasm. Cheers! I'm the same way. The two I'm planning to get are 24" each. That is, if I can buy them soon enough. Hope no one pays them any interest until I can build a tank for them.
