NLS, IMO a LOT better ingredients than Hikari. (the latter uses corn flakes, soybean meal, dried bakery goods, mystery starches, etc) Personally I can no longer vouch for Northfin due to their *preservative free* disclaimer, that thus far has been proven to be a false claim. See following link for more info on that. https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/northfin-food.677309/

have you ever tried/reviewed Southern Delight?

available through Brian Dahlberg in bulk, I'm not sure if he is the creator/manufacturer of it or not.

Another old thread where SD was being discussed.

What they are using for ingredients these days is anyone's guess, I have no interest in anything that this company does. They lost me years ago the moment I read the words poultry feathers and soybean.
Just poking our resident Canadian bear, tongue firmly planted in cheek.

But I've fed my fish SD for years and they all have snapped it up like gluttons and growth was phenomenal so my anecdotal evidence surely trumps your "studies"

What studies? I think my previous comment kinda summed things up, at least I thought it did. At this point I don't even know what raw ingredients they are currently using in their various formulas.

I still stand by everything that I stated in those past discussions. Without reading all of it again, I'm guessing that at least one thing that I would have touched upon is that while growth is important when considering the quality of feed, it is most certainly not the be all to end all. Even beef heart can trigger large spurts in growth - but over the long haul, maybe not so good. But hey, if you are happy with your personal results, good on ya. I certainly have no problem with that.
