What's going on guys I'm building a plywood tank for my rays and aro pbass and flag tails I have them in a 240. They are okay in their. But in the hobby we all want bigger lol. So my question is how do I make the acrylic attach to the pond armoire/plywood. I've heard of silicone and bolting it in also Dow Corning 796 (type of silicone) I believe it is called but have to have some kind of rubber gasket. cause it does not harden that makes me worried it's going to be 8'Lx4'Wx2'T I got an acrylic tank for free. Help me out with some knowledge fellow fishkeepers ?! Thanks in advance.

You could always sell the acrylic tank and buy a nice big piece of glass for the front??? We all know here how to attach glass to the pond armor and we have seen it work numerous times?? That might help put your mind at ease?

It does and I know it would be a lot easier. And I like that just the acrylic tank is cracked so I don't think anyone would want it. Or I could buy a glass tank that's broken if it has one good side and use the acrylic from the broken tank and build a sump.

I like this idea. Just tip and pour the acrylic tank acrylic tank for a sump and use glass for a plywood build

This question gets asked a lot. It's no different than glass.... rough up the pond armor / max act and acrylic. Slap on a bunch of Dow 795 and put the window in place, let it cure and done.
What is max act? Using rough sand paper I'm guessing? And from my understanding the Dow 795 does not harden like silicone so I don't understand that part and then someone told me to make a rubber gasket as well so the Dow 795 doesent all squish out. I am willing to do either or rather save cash and use acrylic that I have. Also does the dow leach anything into the aquarium?

What is your end goal rays?
Well I already got a bd

well I already have a bd male sold my mortoros. But my End goal is to have 2rays to breed. my jardini fire eel jurense cat and a school of 5 flagtail. Even if the rays don't end up breeding that's just the tank I want with some driftwood and anubias or some kind of plant besides the porhos hanging out the top.
