Judging by your stock,filtration setup and in tank pictures I’m going wager your water quality is sub par at best. You need more than just those bio balls and pads on that thing. Those little wet drys are really inefficient on a fresh water tank. More practical on a saltwater tank where the live rock is doing most of the filtration.
If money isn’t an option get a new sump with more area for bio media.
If you want to go the route most monster keepers do then you’re best off junking that wetdry and doing a DIY sump out of a a 30 or 40g.
You really can get a lot of media in one. I would also add some pothos or other nitrate absorbing plants to help. Here’s mine
