Maybe just put up a cheap fence around the pond

No dead dog this morning! :D

I checked the cameras and it only came back once after I went to sleep.

Take the net off the pool. This way the dog can get back out.

Catch the dog......use food for bait. Use a big net.

Or, make a noose. Create a chock point on the way to the bait. When the dof goes for the food yank on the rope. Best to wait till a front foot or two are over the noose.

Should be real easy. I used to catxh ground hogs this way as a kid. If he arrives as much as he does it should be pretty easy to do.

Lock him in the garahe till the dog catcher comes to pick it up.
Even without the netting the dog wouldn't get back out. The pool is only full a little over half way so there's a foot of so worth of pool side the dog would have to climb up and I doubt it could because its only a little scruffy thing.

Now that its daylight we're going to do pretty much exactly that using my catpen as the trap cage. Thanks! :D

A cheap fence is a couple of hundred dollars here otherwise I would of already. :(

Hello; This is a bit off topic, but what do you do if a dangerous animal shows up?
Most of the dangerous animals here are in the form of snakes, spiders and assorted creepy things. I just leave them be if they show up.

This dog worries me because its likely to drown and I'd feel horrible if it did. Not to mention any disease it could put in my pond with its dirty little paws.

Call Steve Irwin, oh wait :(:(
Awww... :(

Call animal control
Its the weekend and they won't pick up a dog unless it bites someone on weekends hence why I'm trying to catch it until Monday (tomorrow) when the dog catcher can come. :)

Thanks heaps everyone. If/when I catch it I'll post a pic because its actually an adorable dog, just a little suicidal by the seems of things..

Suicidal dog? Have it ever crossed your mind that the dog may like water/swimming? Unless it's a bulldog, dog hardly get drown in a "kiddy" pool...

Just curious, are you guys allowed to own guns there?
Yes, gun will solve all problem!

Oh,well there goes my suggestion of a loud shotgun blast in the night to scare the pooch off.
Excellent! Fire a gun in the night is a sure way to scare the pooch off. Heck! It probably scares the whole neighborhood off!
