New Corner Matten Filters

glad to see these filters are catching on! I have a 40 breeder at home that I plan on building this setup for. I'll be ordering the Poret Foam from SwissTropicals but making everything else myself. I'll also be using air opposed to power heads

The Jetlifters need to sit about 1" above the bottom of the tank or higher if you want. Yes the foam will hold them in place.

I just used a kitchen knife to slice the Poret at the top to fit the Jetlifter pipe for a snug fit but if you are using a corner filter design, you may have to remove a bit of the foam material to accommodate the pipe diameter.

All my Jetlifters are at the top of the foam, flush with the foam.

I am doing a regular matten filter, so I was planning on something similar to what you said. Slice space for each one but not to remove any foam and they will sit about 2-3in off the bottom.

Will create a separate thread once I actually get to doing the setup.

Also, what do they look like once dirty? Is the front coated brown?

They look black, but you can see the biofilm with bright light.
