Ok, sounds good. I have removed the last remaining red wiggler and will let him settle down for a little while before I feed him again. His energy level is fine and he does have a beer gut right now. Lol

I will probably order some Hikari carnivore (smaller varient of massivore) pellets to get him started on. I probably did over feed him. I was just excited to see him eat so well the same day I brought him home. Lol

I’m starting to get a bit more concerned about this little guy. He found his way into the pvc tube and has been hanging out in there about half the day now. His color is still good and gill function doesn’t appear to be abnormal. I have not fed anything to him today and he has pooped several times since I got him in the tank yesterday. I have not checked water parameters yet, but this tank is the same tank I was keeping my much larger goldfish in until the day I got the poly. I took them out, did a large water change with aged water and then went and got him. The same water was used to do the water change in my son’s ten gallon tank and all of this fish are just fine. Long story short, I’m positive that my water parameters are fine. Again, I may have definitely over fed on the first day with five red wigglers (small ones). Is this just something I need to be patient with, or are there any steps I can take to improve his condition?

Fish Tank Travis Fish Tank Travis , sorry you are going through this with your new endli. Something you can do is lower the water level so it doesn't have to use as much energy to stay upright. You seem to have a very smart fish(righting itself up in the PVC pipe).

Another thing you can do is add Epsom salt (1tsp per 5 gallons) to act as a laxative. Have also read 1 tsp for 10 gal.....can someone confirm?

Would continue to hold off feeding until condition passes.

A little epsom salt will help. 1tbsp per 5gallons one time dosing will help.

Ok, thank you all for informing me of this. It makes me feel much better about him.

Where will I find epsom salt?
CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, target. Etc

Typically in the first aid section. (Besides a laxative, It is used for a bath in the tub for sore muscles) Usually in a 5 pound bag.
