it's been about 2 weeks and I have yet to see this little one eat. Offered blood worms, brine shrimp, krill, and high quality pellet.

Possible it eating at night but unlikely as I'm a night hawk and have been watching the tank religiously.

Current tankmates include 20 platies and 20 guppies 10 ghost shrimp and one or 2 cherries

40g breeder for feeder fish

This is not his forever home. Just a cycled tank. Lots of plants , drift wood and large rocks and some tubing to hide in which he does.

What's going on with this little guy?

He may be snacking on the ghost shrimp, if not that, try and get your hands on live black worms, all my Eels go crazy for the things!
 
My young one feasted on blood worms. I sucked them up in to a turkey baster and squirted them right at him.

It's possible the little fish are stressing him out. Maybe a quieter tank until he is more confident?

Or maybe he's eating and you just don't see it. 4.5" long won't eat much.

I would also make sure that you're putting the food right by where he hides, and make sure that the other fish aren't eating it before he can.

This would be why I have stopped putting fish in stocked tanks before their "forever homes". Just a quarantine tank (unless I know the source VERY well) and then their forever homes, cycled but heavy stocked tanks can stress the heck out of spiny eels, especially juveniles
 
I would not move him to another tank as it will just prolong the settle in period, it is not uncommon for these to stop feeding for a few weeks if you so much as move their favourite log, once they get feeding though keep feeding a variety of foods and do not worry about the odd week or two if they do not eat....keep putting in the food and then all of a sudden it will feed and you will be fine from then. Make sure the tiniest gaps in the lid are covered and keep up regular water changes
