All,

I'm setting a sump up for the first time and I'm having some troubles with it. It's a brand new 180 with dual overflows. It came with plumbing and I set all that plumbing up but I don't understand how I'm going to be able to adjust how much water is going into the sump with just what they supplied.

Looks like a durso style overflow. The larger line, the one with the braided tubing in your picture, is the drain, and the smaller one is for the pump to pump the water up to the tank. It looks like it’s set up just fine. What particular questions do you have?

I have no experience with durso but lets start with how big is the drain (the one travis described) ? What type of pumps ?

Setting the water level is really just matching what your pump and drains gph to keep a constant level in both the tank amd the sump.

For starters ur gonna wanna drill a siphon break in your return line (lines connected to the pumps)
I dont use a specific sized drill bit. Just the largest i have on hand to ensure the siphon is broken when the power to the pumps is off. I aso use check valves.

I don’t think the durso style need to have the water level set. It doesn’t use valves like a herbie setup does.

Op, can you please post some full tank pictures, and pictures of the full sump? If you have two overflows, then I would recommend ditching the durso setup, and going with a herbie style.

Good catch, I missed that.

Make sure the siphon break is below the normal water line. Otherwise, it will be quite noisy.

Right on with the durso but depending on the pipes diameter and hoping he has a dc pump we can figure out what gph the drains are at and decide what setting on the pump to use

Yeah there are two overflows. The drain is a 1" bulkhead.

The elbow that is connected to the return already has a hole drilled in it.

Stupid question but since it's a dual overflow does that mean I need two pumps? I ordered two pumps and my damn dog ate one of them lol

Oh and my pump is a DCP-8000. The return pipe is 1". I'm also unclear as to how high my drain pipe ought to be set?
