Scary fish that bite?

Surprised no one has mentioned puffers yet! My hairy puffer was a ball of fury and I had to either net him or heavily feed before tank maintenance. I made the very foolish mistake of testing the water temp with my finger during a water change and the only reason i didn’t lose the tip was he bumped the tip as he open up to bite and I was able to snatch my hand away... serious wake up call. Since then I have never even given my 16 inch fahaka the chance to come near me! Got to respect the beak that can crunch clam shells like eggs.

Is that an Aussie lung or electric eel?
My first thought was longfin eel, but I doubt anyone would have those in the US.

Yeah, one of my puffers bit me. That really hurt. It didn't do any damage because he was only an inch long brazilian puffer, but it still stung. :)

Lol I had a hairy puffer too, I forgot about him. He would sit lurking motionless for hour but when you hand enters the water he was like a damd apachi helicopter at it :+)

I totally fear my hairy puffer. So cute yet to watch it feed.... very scary

Here is my little monster mid yawn.

It doesn’t help that hairy puffers body seem to be 2/3rds head and mouth!! Like an aquatic Pitbull... with the attitude to go with it. Still the only fish I have ever been scared of, maybe not but respectful as hell!!
