Fish for 75 or 90 gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I’m really leaning towards the Cuban or red devil cichlid so any advice before I make a decision

One istlanum got to about 8" before I sold him, the other was about 6" when I bought it, and I lost it to parasites after a little while.

My advice would be go for the Cuban- much less common, stays a little smaller, great personality. But in the end it's whatever you have available and like the look of more.

i Just want to know how aggressive Cubans are and if you prefer them over Red Devils, do Cubans usually get larger than grammodes? Thanks

Can be pretty aggressive, mine was fine in a community but was one of the smaller fish in the tank. I prefer them because they are less common, but that's just me. They get about the same as grammodes, 10" pretty common max adult size. Could possibly get to 12".

You say you like parachromis aka rtm then why not go for the little parachromis loiselle only get too 10", proper little predatory insectivores.
I've not kept them but there are some good videos on YouTube.

Idk where to get Loiselle cichlids but if Cubans can get 10” or above them I am definitely a fan, but one more question, can a red devil live a comfortable life in a 75 gallon? Thanks!
