Stingray addict w/o hope must build bigger

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I get the main idea of it but looking at the plumbing seems.....confusing. I'm sure I could plumb it but looking at it I'm kinda in awe I guess. I'm thinking of getting a smallish one eventually. Getting ready to add a 90g to my 180 system... angels, something for the wife. Then I'll be adding a 75 in the basement with puffs. Unsure if I'm going saps or shell out the $ for a couple Schoutedeni. Any way I'm going to need to step up my filtration as everything will be tied into the same filtration. I appreciate the offer of the help further, when I get the unit if I have questions I'll be sure to ask! I saw a pressurized pond filter while looking into Ultimas I don't remember the brand, on a smaller system like mine do you think something like that would be ok or should I get a 1000?

Crushing it! Looking great Kevin. Did you tie together the two 2" return lines after multiport valves into a single 2"? Or are you running the bead filters in a reverse flow configuration using the waste lines as returns?

THANKS, The return lines are just getting ran still (not shown fully , one will feed the 600 gallon tank, other feeds the pup room and bio reactor (2-75gl, 2-40gl,210gl and 100 gallon reactor, we will see if its powerful enough), the main line you see running and going together is the backwash drain line, The beads will be ran normally flow wise, internals adjusted and One is a floating setup one a sinking media. Purchased the different valves to adjust between media types so that is why they look and seem a little different but the same.

Awesome. Yea I can visualize it better now. One of the pics must not have loaded for me when I originally viewed them.

Great play on tying backwash lines together, only require one of these that way. I know you are well aware/probably past this point but I always like to keep the chart below handy when re-configuring or plumbing new. Sweeps whenever possible, heating and bending SCH40 pipe can also be super useful for lower friction loss.

Very excited to see this big fella up and running.

Well after a long time and yes some very not lazy weeks of not working on the pond I finally got to the most important part today. Still working on it as its well you might say taking a little while. Lol. Should be full in another hr or two.

Not really planning on to much else. Mostly some clean up fish and cheap swimmers to add some variety. I put more fish wise in my smaller grow out tanks and little tanks attached to the main pond for enjoyment and growing out. It's built for the rays. I do have some Koi, Tin Foils, Giant albino Gourami, and silvber dollars mostly that will be in with them. Minor stuff really.

Are you planning on any fish other than rays in this room?
