Hi. When I purchased my jade goby (fat sleeper goby) the LFS owner couldn't tell me the exact species but said the invoice stated the fish's adult size was 14"-16" which would make it D. latifrons though D. masculatus is more commonly sold. I tried to look up some pics of the two species to see if I could compare and found some labelled D. masculatus which had a black stripe from gill to tale while ones labelled D. latifrons had no stripe like mine doesn't. It's kind of important to know the difference because D. masculatus can get as big as 28" which would necessitate a MUCH larger tank with concerns of floor strength etc. Anyone have any idea if there's anyway to tell the difference?
