Longest time out of the hobby?

Havnt had a tank set up since around august, really itching to get back into the hobby. only restriction holding me back is limited space and other projects :/

whats the longest yall gone without tanks

Since I've been born, the longest time was 7 months.

Probably 10-12 years, my parents had a little tank (which I still own) for a small while when I was a youngster before shutting it down. Now when I was 14 I picked up again and it's been fun from there!

Was out of it for about 20 years. Always had a tank when I was a kid and then when I got into my 20's and my girlfriend and I moved in together we had a tank. Then after we broke up I got out of it for around 20 years and didn't get back into it till about 6 years ago. It was amazing the changes that happened in the hobby after being out of it for 20 yrs.

the latter half of my time in college was tankless. and the five chaotic years after that i was constantly on the move, but would stop and stare longingly into the windows of fish shops constantly. so 8 years altogether.

anyway i finally have my own place to continue my hobby unrestricted. back in for almost a year now.

I have a 10 gallon running in my room without fish just for the noise haha

I haven't had any breaks since I started when I was about 5. When I went away for college however my mother did take care of my tank.

Never completely left, but from about 2011-2014 my largest tank was a 12 gallon. And there was a year or so in that period, where I only had a small tank with Chinese firebelly newts, no fish. My apartment at the time only allowed 10g tanks, I managed to finesse the 12 gallon because they didn't know better.

I'm barely in as we speak. I've went 5yrs due to living arrangements.

Life has just become so busy it's hard to keep up. It's sad when your struggling to get time to change water.
