Lima shovelnose catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Can go an inch per month till about 8-10 and then slows down. After the first year it’s really slow.

Wouldn’t keep with rtc even the same size. Lima’s are slender and i think still able to get swallowed. Plus the rtc will grow faster than the Lima and before u know it. It’s gone!

I was wondering if I could get one as well. The Wet Spot has a couple different sized ones, if it would get along with my p. Ornatus.

I was apprhensive due to it being a long slender fish, and Toni thinking it's food.

I miss my Lima... he had gotten to a decent size of 8-9 inches... went down one morning and the 15” ornate bichir had it in its mouth tail first, and only the head was showing. Needless to say I lost the Lima. If I ever do them again they will be in a tank all their own with maybe a black ghost knife... I miss the bgk too... :(

Agree with the advice above.

Depends on size disparity but when both are large juvies or sub adults or adults, I think they can be combined safely.

Fish keeping is such a gamble o_Oo_Oo_O

Just a touch more so than life in general. We start gambling the moment we get out of bed.
