Is the 'black spotted' M. Dayi?

And 'orange spotted' Liberiensis? Wet Spot had those a while back. Do you know how big they are supposed to get? Doesn't look like there's a lot of info on them. Do you have photos of yours?

Both should get about 20inches. Yes the black spotted eel is m dayi.

Yeah both will get at least 20 or more. My orange spotted was one of my first spinys few years ago I got him.

Very rare eel. He got to be about 18 inches before he suicided. He was so powerful that he was able to lift my tank lid even with a rock on top and escape while I was at work.

I think he did it because I left my feeding tongs on top of tank and he saw those and maybe thought food was up there.

Which eels are your most outgoing?


Nice! M. Dayi is one I've been interested in. Never heard of the other. I did a google search and pretty much only turned up the Wet Spot aquabid listing. Are you getting it from them?

my most outgoing eels are my fire eels followed closely by my tire track all 3 are beggers
