Fire eel won't accept food

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
try blood worms mine ate tht first day I got him and he let me hand feed him in a week
blood worms should be good make sure they land by him
I'm with Anthony on this one as fire eels tend to be very picky eaters in the beginning,in my experience anyhow. Mine would only eat live blackworms the first week or so and then it started to accept frozen bloodworms and very small earthworms.

Hey,
I tried the Sera Nematol.
Knocked out 3 of my gouramis within minutes.
Two microlepis and a golden leeri...
What is this sh*t?
God damn poison????

Active ingredient is Emamectin. I have no idea about its toxicity to fish so I would have avoided it personally. In Europe you have access to very good de-worming meds.

Kusuri wormer plus-Flubendazole based treatment and
Fluke-Solve -prazuquantel based.

Both can be purchased online from the UK. Both are harmless to fish with known, tested ingredients....I've had very good success with flubendazole...But as the others say, the fish may simply need live food to start feeding....

Hey,
Those are meds I have never heared of to be honest.
Here in Germany Sera is well known for pretty effective meds so I definitely did not expect it to poison gouramis.
I tried live food.
Tubifex and earth worms which were ignores as well.

Those are meds I have never heared of to be honest.

They are UK meds and the ingredients are well studied and tried on various fish of all sizes and species. Both are really safe to use on fish and fry as well.
