we will see what happens, I am still under the opinion that if they leave it alone it will go away, like the NBA did.

Hello; I am not familiar with what the NBA has done exactly but did hear one of the TH (talking heads) telling that the NBA has some definite rules in place that are strictly enforced.
If such is indeed the case then that may be why the "it" went away for them.
Makes sense to me anyway. Have a clearly written rules about how to respect the flag that employees must follow and enforce the rules.
if someone knows the story please share.

NBA let them do what they wanted for it, and none really reported on it. Media one of the big problems in NFL for keeping it an issue and covering it.

Hello; I just heard he guy saying stuff about the NBA today as they were discussing the NFL news today. He must have things wrong but sounded very confident. I do not watch the NBA at all so am not up on what they have done.

I never cared for NFL. If I did, this shameful display, nixed it.
Hello; last year the discussion about anthem protests started in a different thread about the NFL. Went on for a while in that thread but several members were also having talks about the football teams and I guess were still watching the games.
I started this thread so talk could focus on how disgusting such protests appear to some of us. I had some hope the NFL would do the right thing, at least by my standards, but as the season went on it seemed clear no such was to happen. I started watching college football and likely will again this fall.
I have been watching NFL since the 50's and 60's. I thought giving it up would be harder than it turned out to be. College ball has enough merit to be a very good substitute. I figure to start following so should have more understanding about which games are likely good to watch.

Hi there;
I hear the NFL was considering a 15 yard penalty for teams that kneel, or giving them the option of staying in the locker room, until the anthem ends.

Protesting unjustified (well, some of them *hands up, don't shoot*) shootings by police by basically disrespecting our troops and founding fathers, is silly virtue signalling

These guy live a golden life, Play ball and make fortunes doing so. Have there ass kissed most likely from high school. Its pathetic that a country that gives so much is disrespected. Any other company would never put up with this nonsence. Do you think countries like Cuba, N. Korea, China, Russia would put up with this crap???
I never like the Dallas Cowboys or Jerry Jones, I do now!
they wouldn't put up with it because theyre COMMUNIST countries ruled by DICTATORS, where here in the US, we believe in freedom of speech and expression. This covers protests of any kind, by the way, as long as they aren't violent. You don't seem to think about the bigger picture behind the protests, which is fine, just be more educated before you whine about it on a FISH forum. I'm not just talking to the person I'm responding to here, I'm talking to everyone in this thread. Disrespecting the flag is actually a whole different issue, because kneeling isn't defined as disrespect. Sitting is. The reason Colin chose to kneel instead of sit is because it isn't disrespectful to the flag. What is disrespectful to the flag is wearing it on clothing, printing it on any disposable object (napkins, plates, paper, ect) and using it as a logo or an advertisement. My sources for this? The flag code. Look it up.

because theyre COMMUNIST countries
Hello; water.life said "Any other company would never put up" not any country so it appears the communist stuff does not apply.

Hello; Sure we have free speech but not anytime or any place. Yelling fire in a theater is the classic example. Here we have a business with employees and at jobs I have worked my conduct was dictated. On my own time and in the public square I can use my free speech, just not any time or place.
I do not have problems with football players protests at a time that makes sense. Picking the flag ceremony for doing such protests by that selective timing has to be against the flag. The NFL can give them the field at some other time for protests. The players "picked" the flag ceremony and made it the problem.

Hello; I guess you are entitled to an opinion on this, but then so am I. It looks disrespectful to me so be it.
