I just got a 65 gallon to upgrade my 40 gallon
it currently has
2 gulper catfish and red devil Im getting rid of them and want a new stocking idea
here are my ideas
1 flowerhorn
idea 2
breeding group african cichlid
idea 3
8-12 African cichlids peacocks or mbuna
need more ideas

My favorite suggestion is a group of cryptoheros-type cichlids. Rainbow cichlids would be great, or myrnae, septemfasciatus. A group of 6 would be good, 1-2 males if possible, with some livebearers as dithers.

Im laughing told by a proffesional fish store who knows there stuff said 15-20 peacock cichlids in a 65 gallon im probably gonna get 8-10 and add more filtration on my tanm
I've seen 8 inch peacock cichlids btw, so how about just one show quality peacock?

Ah that makes more since

Peacocks can be tough to keep in smaller tanks. I have found they are more aggressive than people give them credit for, especially towards peacocks of the same color. I was eventually able to keep 3 of different colors (one red, one blue, one yellow) in a 90 gallon with yellow labs and blue zebras. I tried more peacocks at first but the alpha males harassed the smaller ones nonstop. you can give it a shot, I'd recommend trying to avoid having 2 of same color(one or 3+ to distribute aggression).
