250 gallon CA/SA stocking ideas

In that size tank, I'd just avoid dovii, umbee, maybe haitensis/jag as well. Anything that's super aggressive has the potential to cause problems. Good chance you can get 10-15 similarly aggressive cichlids to cohabit in a 500. It's a balancing act, just have to adjust as things fail.

Thanks, what if I put a divider in there , took away around 100 gallons ish for some red Terrors to breed? Could I still have 10-15 fish. This is what I am thinking. 1 jag, 1 haitensis, 3 green terrors, 4 jack dempeseys, Texas cichlid, 1 Red Devil and not are about the last one, maybe a pair of red terrors. What do you recommend for stocking list does that sound good
 
no way to tell you exactly what will or wont work really with an aggressive ca community. And you shouldn't expect it to work without changing fish around, they rarely do. Though I did say id probably avoid jag and haitensis in a community, and I wouldn't divide it either. Also breeding pairs I would avoid.
 
Haitiensis don't do well in community tanks so I would leave them out, if it's a 500 gal gives you options. You want a mix of fish that aren't in direct competition. I have seen a few monster tanks where parachromis managuensis will do alright with some of the big vieja spp or Cincelichthys spp, maybe a solo male jag a pair of bocourti or pearsei, or veija synspilum, and a pair of salvini.

Alright, well I definitely want a red tiger cichlid I forgot to mention, some jags seem to be really peaceful though so I might try for one of those, but the haitensis isn’t really a pretty fish so it’s no big deal that one would be too aggressive, btw why wouldn’t it be a good idea to put a divider in there and put a pair on the smaller side of it?

I am not really into the veija or salvini but I have seen very mellow jags, also I am thinking no JD’s because they are on the smaller side so 1 green terror, a group of 3 red terrors, a group of 3 red tigers, a jag and a Texas cichlid. How does that sound
 
3 red tigers
3 red terrors
1 green terror
1 Texas cichlid
1 Jaguar
And maybe a divider to put the red terrors in or the red tigers

I think you would end up with a dead jag or red tigers, and the green terrors wont be able to hold there own against the rest of the stock. Two parachromis spp won't work well in the same tank,
