Hi. I have no idea how to use this site but what I’ve read on it is interesting. Thought I would share a bit and, perhaps, start up some conversation. I just bought a 10 year old red devil. He is about 11” long and in good health. His eyes are a bit cloudy. I think he Has about 60-70% vision. I am keeping him in a 5’ x 1.5’ X 2’ tank (120 usg) tank. I have had him a few days and he’s settling in nicely. Eating well and good colour. Thick and robust. Names Bruce (after the shark in Finding Nemo, of course). My 3 year old grand son met him for the first time today. He put his face up to the glass. Bruce backed up to the other end of the tank and took a 5’ run at him. He just about jumped through the roof. It was great! Then the games began. Bruce had a good workout today.
Tank mates are a 11.5” Gibbiceps named Gilbert, 6 Giant Danios and a Red Tailed Shark named George. Bruce pushes Gilbert around a bit but does not seem to hurt him. I will remove Gilbert if he seems stressed or damaged in any way. the Danios are, potentially, sacrificial but he can’t seem to catch them so far. I am hoping he won’t catch George (the shark). George is really fast and Bruce can’t seem to catch him.
