This looks to be a great combo. I haven't had a gar since I as a kid. Which I beleive ws sold as an allagator that was in the 80s so who knows. Seemed they occupied mostly the bottom third of the tank is that true of most gars?

When I had non African aros, my gars would swim in middle/bottom but since I don't anymore. They mostly chill at the top.

Mine swim at all levels but mostly mid to top unless finding food. But besides smaller feeder fish, they’re the only fish in the tank so there’s no competition
