Being sold as a orange apurensis, not sure if it's an apurensis or not?

Likely apeurensis as Fowleri isn’t readily seen. The way to tell is looking at their bellies and there’s also a size difference when large. That’s an old mfk pic from an old member by the way, if I remember right.

Yes. But still a cool oddball catfish with a large mouth and appetite. Best kept solo once bigger.

Yeah, I kept an apurensis to about 12", awesome but not community friendly. Mine ate a few fish 50% it's size and got sold. Sometimes I wish I had a triple stack of 180g instead of my 300g, so I could have a couple of wet pet monsters... Apure, fahaka ect.
I didn't expect the above fish to be fowleri bit as I've never seen a small apurensis I wasn't sure on it being a jelly cat at all tbh. Cheers anyway mate.

It's a bit hard to say which way we are looking at it but most likely an apurensis to me too.

Nice find. Looks like one of the obscure Batrochoglanis (agree with Ron) that Yellowcat Yellowcat used to keep or maybe keeps now.

Kirk, this is about what Rocksor dug up, not the OP fish. I'll post a photo before it disappears. The sales page states the fish is 3.25". Perhaps you will want to get your fix?

Believe it or not, they called it C. fowleri or Peruvian Frogmouth Catfish! Haha... and they want $150 on sale ($180 normal).
