My 16" senegalus from Lake Turkana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wait you went there yourself and got the fish? I thought you bought it off some guy who collected it from there. If I spent 3k to get him I would have collected at least 15 if I was allowed to. Kept what I wanted then sold the rest.

I just had to laugh at this. No senegal bichir over 14 inches and here you are showing off your new 16 incher.... Also someone saying they'd pay to see a 16 incher. Maybe give them a call? :p

Also I just did some research on turkana and I now know a lot more about the lake, the surrounding area, and a little bit about the fish there. I can understand why you spent 3k going there and getting him. If I had the money and a bigger tank I'd also go there to get me one. A 16 inch senegal bichir is like a dream to me.

Nah bro, if he flew to lake Turkana in Kenya it would cost more than 3k for the trip and fish. Giseok flew to Japan to purchase them from an established Bichir purveyor.

Where did he say that at?

Ahh. God I just have to keep flipping back to page one to see that beauty then I go to my 75 and measure out 16 inches just to see that it's only 2 inches shorter then the width. It's just amazing. He looks like a majestic and graceful dragon. I think I'm turning green with envy now :p
Hope you don't mind op but I downloaded your pics so I can put them as my wall paper. If you mind then I'll delete them.

That is amazing, how much did you pay for that beauty?
Around 3k$ for trip and fish i guess

If i went to kenya to take them, it must takes over 10k$ and i will never return without Turkana PBB hahaha

Most surprising thing is rhat 16" one is still growing very fast.
I think he will rich 17" or more in end of this year.

Just looked up the salinity of Lake Turkana, aver 2500ppm salinity (2.5ppt or 2lbs of salt per 100g).
It's only 2.4% salinity, which is a lot but that salt seems excessive..
fishhead0103666 fishhead0103666 most sens in the trade are captive bred, and are usually shorter for some reason. My Cb is shorter and Stubby compared to my wild caught which is longer and slimmer. Had them for the same amount of time

giseok jung giseok jung do you have Nigerian senegalus by any chance?
