Hi Guys
So what would your suggestions be in keeping my pothos roots safe from silver dollars? I don't have the SDs yet, but I am thinking of exchanging my angels for them as I enjoy watching schooling fish and the eating behavior of the SDs. I don't think my tank is large enough for both the SDs and angels.
I was thinking:
1- Use PVC pipe with holes drilled in the top for the plants to sit in, and a small pump on one end to encourage water flow through the pipe, over the roots. So the roots stay protected and oxygenated within the pipe.
2- use a stocking/pantyhose/some sort of netting to hold the roots.
Do you have any other ideas that may be suitable?

Current setup:
7 x Geophagus Tapojas (just started laying eggs)
6 x Angels
5 x Siamese algae eaters
2 x spotted ctenopoma
Filtration: 2 x 2000Lph canister filters, 900Lph powerhead filer, and a lot of plants growing up the wall. I'm sure these plants make a difference as I was recently away for 10 days, and with someone looking after these guys with feedings twice a day I tested my nitrates and the testing still read <5ppm nitrate. So I don't really want to get rid of them, they are about 2m in height now so look quite nice covering the wall. I also have geckos that have started living in them haha
Tank size: 1.8m (6ft) 130gal.
