can exodon really go in a 29 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I think I may have misread it, my dad has a saltwater tank and at 40 ppm that's when fish die, but my lfs store owner who has a degree in being a vet and who has bred various fish has said it's only at 200 ppm most fish begin to die. I think I'm doing fine since none of my fish are dead or showing signs of illness and my peacock gudgeons are showing signs of being ready to breed. Thanks for the good luck and for your input

Don't forget that that store owner.... is a store owner. He's there to sell you stuff.

I mean he is quite honest and I've asked questions I knew the answer to just to see if he'd lie or not and he never has, plus he wasn't trying to sell me anything, I just asked at what point do nitrates become dangerous and he said around 200 ppm

Nitrates are like second hand smoke. It slowly causes the health of the fish to deteriorate over time, depending on how high the concentration is.

Good to hear.

Years ago I had one in a 40 long with a school of bleeding hearts it worked awesome no problems, loved that setup but I bet if I had two it would have been a blood bath

You think that if you had 2 bleeding heart tetras that there would have been a blood bath? If so, I highly highly doubt it. They're a peaceful tetra unless you're talking about another fish named bleeding heart something.
