Rc Trucks & cars?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
cockroach cockroach I think I may have too many interests :D Between Aquariums, fly fishing, bonsai, muscle cars and now maybe RC again I think my wallet is gonna just jump out of my pockets and say "screw it I'm outta here" lol.

Pretty much looking at buying a set of Clodbuster axles and then building my own tube chassis and then 4 link and working from the ground up with piecing it together with aftermarket and custom made parts.
Any particular type of engine in mind?

Clodbusters are electric so I'll stay electric on this. I've had nitro before and while I enjoy nitro sometimes electric can be more fun just around the yard and neighborhood so that the noise doesn't bother people. Seems like you can use them more because they can be ran just about anywhere you want.

My last clod I built had a pair of twin 10 turn motors in it and it was pretty darn powerful with those but only got about 8 minute run times. So either will go with that again or have also been looking at some of the brushless setup as well which supposedly not only have the most power but are more efficient so would have more run time. Downside is the cost of a brushless setup.

Did some digging and actually found a picture of one of my last tube chassis clodbusters I had built, surprised I even still had the pic. To give you an idea of how long ago that was, yes, that is a Polaroid pic :D

Hahahaha. I am lucky in that the Minister of Finances in our house allows for hobby budgets here and there. But....I hear you. Nothing new for me on the horizon

Well I think I'm gonna do it and get back into building a truck. Found a pair of clod buster axles online for $90 which isn't too bad. And also found a brazing torch on CL for $10 without bottles which I can get the two bottles for about $18 at HD so probably go pick the torch up tomorrow. Kind'a looking forward to getting back into it and building a truck over the winter. I'll post up some pics of the building once I get started on it.

Lol... im into RC trucks...

Got a fully modified 1/10 Traxxas Stampede 4x4 and a 1/8 HPI Savage...

Havent really lately due to the extreme summer heat and LIPO batteries not being happy with the temps...

Its definitely fun to get into and the power these things have compared to what i was used to 20yrs ago is something else...

From running nimh batteries going 20Kmh back in the days to now running 2 - 6S LIPO at 60-80Kmh+ on grass lol...
