Got to agree with RD on this. I'm mostly a cichlid keeper myself and have tried over the years keeping different sorts of cichlids from various collection points as well as a few non cichlids together and in the long run it just dosen't really work well. At times I "thought" it was working because no one was killed and eaten or beat up. What was happening though is the less aggressive fish were being out competed for food as well as simply living a life of stress and they would inevitably, over time, become washed out color wise, get sunken stomachs and die a year later, or just not live as long as they should.
