im not sure how to do thatI have been spying this, you can check my sticky in the subforum. African knives are super chill. Just make sure nobody tries to beat on them because they aren't brawlers like cichlids and the likes.

very impressive write up ill have to give that a deeper read, as it seems very interesting
oh sweet i really like the black ghost knife i just thought 125 was too small
i will likely get a larger tank in a year or two so bgk arent out of the question but i plan to put a breeding pair of ebjd in there and dont know how well they will get along, if they wont get along maybe ill get a lot of tiger barbs and clown loches as well as the bgk, appreciate all the suggestionsThe black ghost knife will eventually outgrow the 125, but since they are slow growing fish, you can have it in their for years. A 6x2x2 foot print (180 gallon) would be the ideal tank for the BGK for lifesince it will eventually reach over 20" in length.
An african knife fish would be perfect for a 125, and you can put many different fish in there to get a lot of movement. A large school of Congo tetras (they are the most beautiful tetras, in my opinion, and they get close to 3 inches), roseline sharks, cory catfish, butterfly fish, rope fish, and yoyo loaches. If you want to try a cichlid, you may try rams or a keyhole cichlid.

i would have them in a school to reduce agression. Those tiger barbs would shred a BGK and the ebjd would be far too aggressive. Tiger barbs are very nippy. Clown loaches, on the other hand, go very well with a BGK. I've kept this combo several times with no problems at all.
That’s funny to think about a little tiger barb messing with big ole knife, I appreciate the info I’ll have to rethink the tank matesKnives don't deal well with nippy fish in general, in my experience they're quite easily bullied by other fish.
