Royal Pleco or Gold Nugget with Bichirs

Awesome good to see they still had him. That's a really nice score for a great price. You're gonna love him when he starts to get big. I had one about 10" 5 yrs ago and had to quickly get rid of him when my 265g tank leaked, wish I had him back now. They are one of the cooler plecos out there IMO.
I think general consensus with lots of these things is fish dependant. I have a common that is about 7-8” and never bothers my ornate witch is roughly 1’. But the plec will go to the top of the tank for floating pellets, which is odd to me. So even if our pleco leave our bichir alone doesn’t mean the next plec will follow suit. So don’t go blindly off of 2 people experience only, keep an eye out for your own pleco personality.

Also keep in mind with these guys slow growth, it will never “catch up” to the polys and we all know the rule of thumb “if it fits in its mouth....” there is always a risk of course. But from what I hear plecs are not good eats...
