Can Someone Tell me WTF these are?

As far as improving their chances of spawning I would suggest feeding them an assortment of blood worms, tubifex, brine shrimp, daphnia etc. Not sure where you live, but I used to culture mosquito larva to condition smaller fish for breeding. I believe temp changes can trigger a spawn, if I remember correctly it's a increase that does it.

thats crazy, how do i keep them fed?

I put them back in with the pleco, is that okay?

I don’t feed anything special to fry. I grind an assortment of foods I feed my adult fish into a powder. Then I add a little tank water to make a soup. Then I use a dropper to put drops of food into the tank 3-4 times a day. I’ve raised many fry this way and it works great.
But everyone has their way of doing things so this certainly isn’t the only or best way to feed fry. Just my way

Congrats on the spawn!

Mine spawned twice in a just over a week. The eggs thankfully got sucked down into my sump and that’s were I found the first batch of newly hatch fry.

I personally raise fry in their own tanks without other fish to increase survival rates, but the pleco might be fine. I can’t say I’ve ever seen my pleco go after fry before.

I found 7 of these swimming in a 40gal tank with my common pleco. I pulled the pleco from my Oscar tank because I noticed white stringy poop from him. The Oscar and Cyano texas cichlid seem fine and have been eating normally.

I checked their tank for these and didnt spot one. I also check my GT fry tank, again not one in sight.

I'll feel dumb if they are very early stage GT fry, but the pleco has only come in contact with one GT fry that I ended up euthanizing.

Is this a parasite of some sort? Or is it a fish?

So far they are doing great. I've been grinding up cichlid flakes to a powder and dropping a bit in there. I did lose the one that I took pics of, but there is 6 left in there, I can barely see them.

The Pleco pretty much stays under his driftwood all day, I feed him 1 Hikari tablet at a time because he creates a huge mess and poops everywhere.

I took him from my ex-wife after he was chasing off her goldfish constantly. Early on I was just gonna sell him off but he kinda grew on me. I think he was pretty scared to come out while in my Oscar tank so hes got his own 40gal breeder to lounge in + the Danio fry now.

I will do my best to keep them alive.

Can you tell the difference between male and female Danio? There is one in the group of 7 adults that is much shorter and almost kinda fat in the belly in comparison to the others which are straight, long and stay swimming about 99% of the time. I find the little one hanging out up top sometimes to get a break.

Fat ones probably a dominant female

I can try to take pictures tomorrow of a male and female. But I’m sure google could also show the difference. My females seem to be taller bodied and the males thinner. Can’t say off the top of my head if either sex is longer the. The other. I think mine are all pretty much the same size.

Sweet, so the longer more streamline are the males, the more rounded bellies are female.

Correct, fat bellies = female danios.

Fun fact... did you know that danios mate for life?

If you want to improve egg and fry survival you can put in some guppy grass a.k.a. naja grass, Java moss or Christmas moss, water sprite and / or cabomba. Those will give the eggs a place to fall where they won't be easily found and eaten. Fry will have a place to hide and forage for microorganisms growing on the plants.
