Tired of carrying buckets!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd go grab a harbor freight pond pump or one off Amazon...some hose by the foot from a hardware store and pump it out a close window if possible, python is excellent also

Rigid tubing piece? I think I saw that.

Yup...goes on female hose end of python connector. Makes fill ups less adventurous when you're out of the room!

Only thing I don't recommend is the squeeze bulb siphon piece...they dropped the ball on that one. Waste of money.

Got it! Thanks everyone. I've just ordered it. Python maintenance kit and no spill hook.
I know 55 isn't really old, but after the 1st 5 buckets, I begin to question the truth of that. Cheers everyone. Happy New Year!

Good deal. BTW, u can get python extension hoses if u need more length...they come in 10 and 20 foot sizes.

Use planter dollies for buckets.

If you have a water source and a drain nearby then I'd highly recommend a continuous drip system. I haven't carried a bucket or ran a hose in years.

Like everyone said, python is awesome (and it seems higher quality than the aqueon equivalent). I do two 80-85% water changes weekly on my 125g now with it. There's no way I'd do that with buckets.

I would also like to know more about this. Specifically wonder how you dechlorinate the water?

I syphon to a long piece of pvc pipe that runs outside. Drop a pump in the tank to drop the level for a water change. Fill a tote with water next to the tank using a garden hose. Drop a 300w heater in the tote and let it heat for a couple hours. Drop submersible pump in the tote and pump to tank.
Worthy to note: the water in Dallas area is poisonous to fish since they regularly shock it with chlorine. It wiped out a whole tank on me once so I never trust it anymore. Heating my water helps evaporate the chlorine faster.
