Unfortunately average rent down here is more than my income. Living alone in a private rental is impossible while unemployed, $560 a fortnight in the bank and $300 a week rent on average makes it impossible.
I've been waiting on public housing for about 2 years now - which is nothing, I know a lady with kids whose been in a tent for 5 years waiting for public housing.
Oh, I'm not an enabler. I refuse to do anything for him and I've been slowly getting through to Ty that he doesn't have to be this guys servant. The only things I do for "him" are things that I need done for my own health and sanity - like getting poop off of the toilet.
I couldn't be that gross, I'd be so embarrassed and ashamed of myself if I acted even slightly like he does. If I ever get poop on the side of the bowl I clean it off instantly. I can't just leave it there for someone else to look at, how disgusting!

Our toilet is separate from our bathroom but there is only one of each. One toilet, one bath/shower, one sink unfortunately.
If he ever fell I couldn't help him. I weigh 40kg-ish and he's over 180kgs. I'm not trained to help people like that nor do I have the arm thingys that the hospitals use. I would end up seriously injuring myself if I tried I recon so I won't even be attempting it. He can stay on the floor until someone that isn't me gets back because I'm not risking my own health and safely for someone who wouldn't do the same for me, and I think that's fair. Anyone who doesn't can go jump in a puddle.
If the owners son doesnt kick him out and he doesnt change his ways you may just have to deal with it until your situation improves and you can find better living arrangements. Its a ****ty situation we've all been there.
