Females.
The one looks really thin.
I know I thought that too, they were both the same size at one point.. both from different stocks, I noticed about a month ago the smaller ones looking skinny’ it feeds well so I haven’t got a clue what would be wrong

Has it laid eggs recently? I mean, I’d guess not since you are asking about gender, but have you seen behavior that could lead you to believe it has?

If not, it might have parasites. If it’s eating well it shouldn’t be that thin unless it’s laid eggs recently.

Do you think I should treat the tank with seachem paraguard? Thanks I’m in the uk so some medicines are hard to acquire

the pair get on well, they were mouth locking for a couple days but then the smaller one became submissive and the bigger one grew more... iv has the smaller one around 3 months and the bigger one 7-months

As said they appear to be female so they are not paired. It seems you mistook aggression/fighting for dominance between two females as breeding activity. The now larger one became the dominant female which probably put stress on the now smaller one. She definitely looks abnormally skinny unless she laid eggs. Though being the submissive female and being overall skinny I doubt it was because she laid eggs. I also suspect internal parasites.

You think I should put the smaller one in her own tank

Iv got a couple of quarantine tanks so it’s not an issue. What meds do you think I should use? I do have some scaleless fish so some meds are a nogo
