Seems they could make this show last for awhile(just introduce new people to replace the long line of bodies).

Hell, they could have made it last three more seasons if they had included the Riverlands plot, Tyrion's Aegon VI plot (not Jon) and made Dorne not suck

I truly believe that we'll get TWoW (and maybe ADoS) when GRRM normally drops his books in November because the GoT hype will be at an all time high this year.

I feel like the two-books-long wait between ADwD and TWoW with the entirety of the show is all a marketing ploy.

I've thought of that, and I believe it, but was it the editors, the suppliers or the Great George's idea?

Honestly idk if the wait is GRRM's idea, the editors, D&D, or some mix of the three. All I know is that if a book drops somehow in conjunction with S8, the hype is going to be massive

I am not expecting the last book any time soon if at all, he just is not interested in finishing right now. He wants to do the TV thing. thats all he ever really wanted to do.

My hope is that based on the fact that "TWoW" has taken twice as long as it has historically taken him to write one book in the ASOIAF series, he's already finished both (or is in the process of wrapping up ADoS). If that proves to not be the case; then I agree, it will be a loooooong time before we see ADoS, if we ever do.

One of my biggest fears right now is that ASOIAF will go the way of Dune.

read the dune books years ago, I was never waiting for more of them tho. The Gun slinger books another mater. reading the sequel to the shining now.
