Cheers guys, I understand most wolves can be commed if circumstances are right, presuming you don't get an especially bad one.
I kinda know what I'm getting into with the wyckii, I think avoiding cichlids will help to some degree as the Midas I kept before were constantly battling the wyckii.
I've kept 18"+ redline/giant/micro snakehead in here before although I didn't share it on here due to the backlash. They were all model citizens and never bothered anyone other than snatching food... Ime the Channa I've commed (Diplo/micro/Gachua/pleuro/albino argus) rarely see tankmates as food if they are added last and tankmates arnt bitesized.
If the Channa passes 21" I will likely re-home.
The more I think about it my australis is an awesome fish and I don't really need a curupira.
The smaller spanners might become bitesized so they may need to go but we'll see.
You all know me, if things get out of hand or too big I will sort it out.
If I were you despite knowing better of what's likely to happen I would try it. Especially because the tank is larger than what I tried it in. Not sure if it's worth to note but the experience didn't end because one fish killed the other, after a waterchang I almost lost all the fish one day, the wyckii didn't make it. Another thing I wanna point out to you as well, out of wolves, curu can be the most problematic with other wolves. People have done it successfully but it seems to be few and far inbetween. I got him to accept my gold and ery. But the mala I tried with him he didn't. And I would expect faster growth than 15" in five years. Also have to consider the starting size of each fish as you know. And as mentioned them being nocturnal doesn't always help. The wyckii and curu both prowl at night. Wyckii more so. You'll notice the wolf takes power naps no matter the time ime.

You gotta stop worrying about back lash ;) without people like us the hobby would never learn what's possible. Perfect example is DB. He's never kept aimara alone and he got his first back when their rep was the worst. To me he alone changed the view on them for the most part. JL contributed to that as well I will say.

Lol I was actually searching for a curu since the dodgy one I had with a bad eye died... Bad experience all round there.
The Diplo came up so I should stick with him really, I would be gutted if the curu beat my nice australis/mala up...
You said yourself your old mala was your favourite wolf, maybe I already have my favourite wolf and haven't realised it, the gold came and went.

Found my del dead the other day jammed behind the background. Poor little begger.

Mine is 96x30 so not as wide as yours. I kind of regret not being able to go 3ft wide.

I think this guy is my biggest. Maybe pushing 18inches. They all kind of slowed down.Screenshot_20171126-075045.png

I havent gotten any new ones for over a yr.... the itch os starting to get real bad lol. Dang thats a crappy death.
