I guess he didn't like my offer...

I see someone is having coffee with their vodka this morning...
Quite the opposite. You are witnessing a rare and hence precious moment of sobriety.

... or do you fail to grasp the rather obvious message?

People are so touchy. That's the way negotiation works. They go high you go low....meet in the middle. Offended by a low offer? Just delete the offer or counter. It's craigslist not a negotiation for a raise at work.

I would of replied with my number I'm willing to take and said take it or leave it.

It's an oddball tank to boot so it's not going to command the same price as a 6ft standard unless you find the unicorn looking for that specific dimension.

Good point the tank is essentially a cube. I honestly wouldnt pay close to 500 for those dimensions. I hate high tanks.

I'm sad I had to delete that image too, the seller's reply WAS pretty funny :lol2:

just what I've done and its worked out twice for me was contacting the seller saying I have x amount of $ and its here if you want to sell just contact me. I got a 240g and a 150g like that. sometimes patience and letting the person get tired of cl flakes can make a person come down on the price. I like the take $200 for your meds lol!

I like that. It’s an offer without being insulting or rude. It doesn’t even demand an immediate response. I might just do that the next time I get a big tank. I’ve seen plenty of big ones for $800-$600 for sale for over a year now.

I think a lot of you are over reacting. The $200 was an offer to start negotiations and I only offered it after having seen the aquarium on Craigslist for a couple days. If no one else is buying it, then is a low ball really a bad idea? I would disagree.

I’ll post the reply again edited to cover up the language when I get home.
